Red Giant Software Partners with Trapcode Combining Core Company Strengths
Red Giant Software Is Now Exclusive Publisher of Trapcode Products Worldwide
San Francisco, CA, November 1, 2006 Red
Giant Software, publisher of a line of professional digital video tools,
including Magic Bullet and Knoll Light Factory today announced a new partnership
with Trapcode, a motion graphics and visual effects plug-in developer based
in Sweden.
Effective today Red Giant Software will be the exclusive publisher of all seven Trapcode products worldwide. All sales, support and marketing for end users, resellers and distributors will be handled directly by Red Giant Software. Products will continue to be available for purchase at http://www.trapcode.com as well as http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/.
Using its engineering
expertise, Red Giant Software plans to offer Trapcode's popular Adobe
After Effects plug-ins on a wider range of host applications like Apple Final
Cut Pro and Avid AVX. Also, beginning
in spring 2007 re-engineered Trapcode products will be available for purchase
as a product box or via software download, meeting the needs of both resellers
and end users.

A: Trapcode products require a Name and Serial Number for authorization. The serial numbers and authorization will not change. Users will purchase the products through http://redgiantsoftware.com/ and receive an email with name and serial number to authorize the product.

A: This partnership of joining core company strengths. Trapcode now has the additional bandwidth to continue developing and making new tools. Red Giant will focus on expanding the potential market and provide the highest level of support.

Q: Where have Trapcode plug-ins been used? A:
Trapcode tools have been used in everything from wedding videos to feature
films. For example, in the movie "Day After Tomorrow", Particular
was used to generate photorealistic snow effects with realistic physics.

Q: Can I still buy Trapcode products from current resellers?
A: No. Red Giant Software is planning to revamp the reseller network
and offer select resellers the ability to buy through Red Giant Software's discount
schedule. By the end of the year, all resellers will be contacted so that they

Q: What Trapcode bundles will be available from Red Giant Software?
A: All current downloadable Trapcode bundles will be available on this
bundle page.
Red Giant Software will initially offer Trapcode Suite which includes all Trapcode
products on a single CD.
Q: Is there a bundle of Red Giant and Trapcode products now?
A: Red Giant Software Light FX includes the current versions of Shine,
Starglow, and Knoll Light Factory Pro for $499 USD for a limited time
only.
What's Next?
Q: To what applications are you going to port the seven Trapcode products?
A: Updated products coming in 2007 will support Final Cut Pro 5.1.2 or later, Motion 2.1.2 or later, Avid AVX 2-based hosts (Avid Xpress Pro 5.5 or later, Media Composer 2 or later), and Premiere Pro 2 or later.
Q: What are the expected ship dates for the updated Trapcode products?
A: 3D Stroke, Starglow, and Shine are scheduled to ship in Q2 2007 for Final Cut Pro, Motion (as FX Plug), Avid AVX 2, and Premiere Pro. Particular is scheduled to ship for Final Cut Pro, Motion (as FX Plug), and Premiere Pro in Q3 2007. The other Trapcode products currently are not designed for editing systems but may be ported to other hosts in the future.
Q: Will there be an upgrade or cross-grade for current users that want to use their Trapcode products in the new host applications?
A: Yes. Pricing will be set upon availability of the updated products.
