Introducing Knoll Light Factory v2.5!
We are excited to deliver this upgrade to all existing Knoll Light Factory customers. The focus of this upgrade is on speed. Each time we survey you guys we consistantly find speed is the most important requested feature, both for playback during creation and final rendering.
We have found the best way to deliver speed is to bring the GPU, or graphics processor, to the processing-party. As we implemented with Magic Bullet, we have GPU'd the Knoll render engine. For those not familar with this technology, it's really simple for you the user, but really complex and difficult for us, the developer. Here is all you have to know, if you have a supported graphics card plugged into your computer Knoll will automatically render and play back up to 10 times faster at real-time speeds. We say "up to real-time" because render speed depends on the type of card, hard drive and project you are rendering.

Some things to consider when upgrading
- Should I buy the Pro or Editors edition?
Previous users of Knoll Light Factory should upgrade to Knoll Light Factory Pro v2.5 to retain the same feature set.
- Who quaifies for the upgrade?
Owners of Knoll Light Factory v1.0 or v2.0 qualify. If you own a copy of Knoll Lens Flare or any other version of Knoll you must purchase the full product at this time.
- How does the upgrade install?
You must have your previous version of Knoll Light Factory installed on your computer in order for the upgrade software to operate and install properly. If a previous version of software is not found on your hard drive the install will fail.
- Do I have a supported graphics card to take advantage of the accelerated render speeds?
